The Church in Dubrovitsy was made of white rubble stone from Podolsk district. The name of an adjacent district of Moscow (Butovo) derives from this stone. The church has ornate stone carved walls, there are white-stone figures in the corners and many stone carved sculptures. Such decoration is very unusual for Russian churches.
