Largest Roman Catholic church in Russia

When in 1894 representatives of Roman Catholic church asked for permission to build the church in Moscow, the governor agreed on condition that the building should be modest. But design engineers did not follow that instruction and built Cathedral in neo-gothic style. Nowadays its hall is the largest in Russia and can hold up to 5000 congregants.
