Ruzhany Palace was a center of political life
In the XVII century Ruzhany Palace was a significant center of political life in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as the famous family of Sapiehas lived here. Its outstanding representatives were: Lew Sapieha, the grand chancellor of Lithuania (the head of the ducal chancellery); Jan Sapieha, the grand marshalok of Lithuania (he controlled the court).
