Church of Saint John the Warrior in Soviet period
The Church of Saint John the Warrior at Yakimanka was not closed in the Soviet period. Thanks to that the church could take and preserve sanctuaries and relics of the churches that were closed or destroyed at that time. For example the present-day iconostasis belonged to the Church of the Three Saints at Krasnye Vorota which was demolished in 1928.
