Rapina manor was founded in the City of Rapina in 1582 not far from Tartu-Pskov road. At that time this area was under control of Poland. Later among the owners of this manor was Swedish king Gustav II Adolf at the beginning of the XVII century and Russian emperor Peter The Great from 1717 to 1725.
Main building of Rapina Manor (or Rapina Mois) that we can see nowadays was built in 1830 - 1850. It is also called Sillapaa Castle.
Rapina manor is surrounded by a unique garden with 600 species of ornamental plants and bushes as well as 60 species of birds and 7 species of bats.
Bright yellow windows of National Geographic are installed near the most interesting and historically valuable objects. So in South Estonia there are 21 objects marked with such yellow windows. And the city of Rapina has one of them.
