Catholic church as the body of Jesus Christ

According to the ideology of Catholicism the Church is a manifestation of the body of Jesus Christ, where the altar is the head, the corpus and the legs are the central nave and the arms spread as on the cross are located in the transept. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in accordance with this traditions.
